HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT

The Faculty of General Subjects was formerly known as the Faculty of Politics - Law, National Defense - Physical Education;

On September 20, 2020, the Faculty of Politics - Law, National Defense - Physical Education and the English Center of Vinh Phuc Vocational College merged and were renamed as the Faculty of General Subjects of Vinh Phuc Vocational College.

On November 28, 2024, Vinh Phuc Vocational College and Vinh Phuc College of Economics and Engineering merged into Vinh Phuc College of Technology and Engineering. Since then, the Faculty of General Subjects of Vinh Phuc Vocational College and the Faculty of Political Theory of Vinh Phuc College of Economics and Engineering were also merged into the Faculty of General Subjects of Vinh Phuc College of Technology and Engineering.

The Faculty of General Subjects teaches general subjects including Political Education; Law; Informatics; Foreign Languages; Physical Education and National Defense and Security Education for intermediate and college levels.

FUNCTIONS

To handle administrative and professional management within the faculty, assisting the Board of Directors in implementing training tasks, scientific research activities, as well as educational contents regarding politics, ideology, law, national defense and security, and foreign languages for students.

TASKS

To organize the planning and implementation of teaching activities according to the training plans for political science, law, economic law, soft skills, career orientation experiential activities, foreign languages, physical education, and national defense and security education.

To improve the quality of teaching and innovate teaching methodologies for subjects under the faculty's charge, meeting the practical needs of learners.

To organize the compilation of curriculums, outlines, textbooks, and teaching materials for assigned subjects. To propose the development, supplementation, and modification of curriculums towards continuous improvement and alignment with output standards.

To advise and coordinate with the College to organize political education activities at the beginning of the course, experiential activities, and extracurricular activities in order to enhance the moral qualities, awareness, and understanding of learners in implementing the guidelines and policies of the Party, as well as the laws of the State.

To organize scientific research, and propose feasible and highly applicable research topics and projects to the College's Scientific, Education, and Training Council.

To coordinate with functional departments and specialized faculties in: managing the quality of modules and subjects in charge, and educating and managing students.

To coordinate with the Department of Personnel and Administration to build plans and propose to the leadership regarding training and fostering activities to improve professional and operational qualifications for lecturers and teachers managed by the faculty in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; To conduct comprehensive and periodic evaluations of staff and teachers to classify public employees within the faculty.

To manage and utilize materials, documents, assets, equipment, and supplies provided, purchased, or received from other sources in accordance with State regulations and specific guidelines of the college to serve teaching activities.

To coordinate with the college in enrollment work according to the targets assigned by the college.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Excellent Labor Collective awarded by the Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee for the 2011 – 2012 academic year;

Excellent Labor Collective awarded by the Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee for the 2017 - 2018 academic year.
