SUMMARY DEVELOPMENT HISTORY

The Faculty of Information Technology was established in February 2025 through the merger of two Faculties of Information Technology from Vinh Phuc Vocational College and Vinh Phuc Economic - Technical College.

The Faculty offers training in the following majors: Computer Network and Communications; Information Technology (Software Applications); Computer Repair and Assembly Techniques; Office Information Technology.

Through 16 years of development (from 2009 to 2025), the Faculty of Information Technology has become one of the school's leading units in training quality as well as scientific research. To date, the faculty has closely integrated training activities with scientific research among staff and students to enhance the training quality and prestige of the faculty. 100% of the faculty's teachers hold national occupational skills certificates; 11 teachers hold master's degrees; 03 teachers are recognized as national excellent teachers; and in the National Self-made Training Equipment Competition, 03 models won first prize.

The faculty's infrastructure and equipment are standardized and modernized, featuring 23 specialized practical classrooms and smart classrooms that meet the development trends of the Industry 4.0 revolution and AI technology. Over the past 16 years, the Faculty of Information Technology has trained more than 900 college students (including more than 40 Laotian students) and thousands of intermediate-level students. Among students participating in national occupational skills competitions, 01 student won a silver medal and 03 students won bronze medals.

FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

2.1. Functions

- Based on the training scale and majors, the Principal decides on the establishment of faculties under the school in accordance with the approved organizational structure of the school.

- The school's subsidiary faculties have a dean and may have vice deans. The dean and vice deans are appointed, dismissed, and removed from office by the Principal in accordance with regulations.

- The dean is responsible for managing and administering the faculty's activities according to the prescribed tasks and assignments from the Principal;

- The vice deans assist the dean in managing and administering the faculty's activities. The number of vice deans depends on the assigned functions, tasks, and training scale of the faculty.

2.2. Tasks of the faculty

Subsidiary faculties operate under the direction of the Principal or the assigned Vice Principal. They are responsible for formulating work plans to submit to the Board of Management for approval to perform the following tasks:

a) Manage teachers, managers, public servants, employees, and learners within the faculty and departments according to the delegation of authority by the principal;

b) Implement teaching and learning plans as well as extracurricular activities according to the school's annual teaching plans and programs as regulated by the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, including: Developing training programs; compiling training materials, textbooks, and learning resources for each major and occupation according to each training level and training form under the management of the faculty/department or as assigned by the principal. Organize the compilation of detailed outlines for relevant subjects and modules to ensure consistency, avoiding overlaps or duplications between subjects and modules within the training program or between training levels. Organize training, research, and innovation in teaching methods; apply information and communication technology to teaching to improve training quality. Develop and implement methods for testing, examining, and assessing the learning and training outcomes of learners, ensuring the fulfillment of graduation output standards as publicly committed, and meeting the demands of the labor market.

c) Plan and organize science and technology activities, international cooperation; cooperate with science and technology organizations, production, business, and service establishments related to the trained majors and occupations, and mobilize the participation of enterprises in the faculty's training process;

d) Formulate plans to develop the teaching staff; training majors and occupations, as well as facilities and equipment serving training and scientific research; strengthen conditions to guarantee training quality; conduct experimental activities, scientific research, and apply techniques and technology to the training process;

đ) Formulate plans and organize the implementation of political, ideological, moral, and lifestyle education for teachers, managers, public servants, employees, and learners; have plans for training and fostering to improve professional and operational qualifications for teachers, managers, public servants, and employees within the faculty;

đ) Organize the evaluation of teachers, managers, public servants, and employees within the faculty and participate in the evaluation of managers within the school in accordance with school regulations;

e) Effectively manage and utilize infrastructure and training equipment according to the principal's regulations; propose and build plans for supplementing and maintaining the faculty's training equipment;

h) Implement the reporting regime as regulated by the principal.

- Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee for the academic years: 2011-2012; 2012-2013; 2013-2014; 2014-2015; 2016-2017, 2017-2018;

- Excellent Labor Collective for the academic years: 2010-2011; 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015; 2018-2019; 2021-2022; 2022-2023.
